The photograph shows the Dayton-Wright "The Messenger" at the Dayton-Wright Airplane Company. "The Messenger" was a small airplane that was powered by a two-cycle four cylinder engine. The aircraft was a single seat model and resembled the De Havilland DH-4 in design. The view of the aircraft is from the tail section looking forward to the front while the aircraft is parked in the middle of an open field. The negative is numbered 65.
