| Description: | This is the second in a series of interviews with Mr. Douglas R. Durko, Associate Dean for Hospital Affairs in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In the first part of this interview, Mr. Durko discusses the interaction between the School of Medicine, the area hospitals, and the University Medical Services Association. In the second part of this second interview, Mr. Durko describes an example of that interaction through a discussion of the School of Medicine's establishment and subsequent development of the Department of Emergency Medicine in cooperation with several area hospitals. Mr. Durko uses this example to illustrate the role of his office to establish a new program in a hospital, funding the program, staffing the new program and providing ongoing support to that program. |
