Lindower, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the first Chairer of the Department of Pharmacology in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this interview, Dr. Lindower begins with a discussion of pharmacology and the School of Medicine's focus on clinical pharmacology. Dr. Lindower then moves into an analysis of the establishment and operations of the School of Medicine's Office of Academic Affairs and Curriculum Committee. Specific areas of curriculum discussed include: the Subcommittees for the First and Second Biennium; selectives of the First Biennium; preparation for the National Boards; the third-year clerkships; fourth-year selectives and the second part of the National Boards examinations. In the second part of the interview, Dr. Lindower examines the process of curriculum change in the School of Medicine and the impact of Dean Sawyer on the school's curriculum. Dr. Lindower finishes the interview with a discussion of the impact of technological change on the School of Medicine's curriculum and the impact of the School of Medicine's voluntary clincal [sic] faculty on the development of the curriculum. |
