Reece, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Medicine in Society in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this interview Dr. Reece continues his discussion of various aspects of the development of his department and of the School of Medicine. In the first portion of the interview Dr. Reece continues his examination of the development of the curriculum of his department. In specific, Dr. Reese looks at the Weekend Intervention Program: its development by Dr. Harvey Segal; its operations; and its success. The second portion of the interview deals with a discussion by Dr. Reece of the impact of the two Deans of the School of Medicine, Dr. John R. Beljan and Dr. William D. Sawyer. Dr. Reece considers the perception of the university community towards the School of Medicine, and how that perception has affected the integration of the School of Medicine into the overall university community. In the final portion of the interview, Dr. Reece discusses his thoughts on the future of the Department of Medicine in Society and of the School of Medicine and begins a discussion on some of the key individuals in the initiation and development of the School of Medicine. |
