This is the fifth in a series of interviews with the Dean of the Wright State University School of Medicine, Dr. William D. Sawyer. In this interview, Dean Sawyer focuses upon specific aspects of his administration of the School of Medicine. In the first part of the interview Dean Sawyer discusses the recruiting criteria for new Department Chairers [sic] after he became Dean. He then moves into an analysis of the relations of the School of Medicine with the Cox Heart Institute, the Bob Hipple Lab, the Fels Research Institute and the Drew Health Center.

In the next portion of the interview, Dean Sawyer examines the financial structure of the School of Medicine and the practice plan of the School of Medicine. The practice plan administration of the School of Medicine, the University Medical Services Association, is discussed in detail with Dean Sawyer outlining the philosophy and purpose of the Association.

Dean Sawyer closes the interview with a discussion of the evolution of the Frederick A. White Center for Ambulatory Care.
