Orville Wright is accepting the State of Ohio medal from Governor Judson Harmon during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration medals ceremony held on the morning of Friday June 18, 1909 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Seated in the front row on the stage is Wilbur, Bishop Milton, and Milton Wright, the son of Lorin Wright. Seated behind Wilbur are Leontine and Ivonette Wright, the daughters of Lorin Wright. Lorin Wright is behind Bishop Milton Wright. Seated behind Leontine Wright is Wilbur Landis and next to Lorin Wright is Ed Ellis. Landis and Ellis were members of the Ten Dayton Boys Club, who were invited to sit on the stage as distinguished guests of the Wright family during the ceremony. On the right side of the image is a large crowd of spectators that witnessed the event. In the grandstands are school children clothed in red, white, and blue to form the United States of America flag.
