The image shows Colonel A. J. Clark, Governor of the Soldier's Home, riding on horseback with his staff during the parade of the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration. Colonel Clark was selected as the Grand Marshal and lead the parade along the route through downtown Dayton, Ohio. Located on horseback on the far left of the image is Captain George H. Wood, the chief of staff for the Soldier's Home. Colonel Clark is in the center and on the right is Captain Bernard Wendler, the adjutant general to the Soldier's Home. The three soldiers are leading the parade through a residential section of Dayton and are being viewed by spectators along the side of the street.
