The photograph is of three distinguished spectators at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from September 3-13, 1910 and was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society. The three spectators from left to right across the image are John Hays Hammond, mining engineer and diplomat, Helen Taft the daughter of William Howard Taft, and Helen Herron Taft the wife of William Howard Taft. The image is the same as item number MS338_06_10 in the form of a glass lantern slide. The number 191 is written on the negative. |
