The photograph is of George Beatty flying a Wright Model A Flyer with an unidentified person. The image was taken at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from August 26 through September 4, 1911 and was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society and the Boston Daily Globe. Beatty had his name and a number five painted on the bottom of the wing and a five on the tail. On the right side of the image is an unidentified person and buildings are in the background. |
