The photograph is of the front of Claude Grahame-White's Nieuport monoplane parked on the exhibition field at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from August 26 through September 4, 1911. The meet was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society and the Boston Daily Globe. A house is in the background as well as the grandstands and spectators are surrounding the plane. It is believed that Claude Grahame-White is standing in the group of people on the left side of the image near the wing of the airplane. |
