Description: The photograph is of Thomas Sopwith flying a Bleriot monoplane with the number seven on the tail at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from August 26 through September 4, 1911. The meet was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society and the Boston Daily Globe. In the background spectators near automobiles and on horseback are near stand with letters and numbers on it. The letter C is on the stand which indicates that it is the cross-country flight event. The numbers indicate the pilots flying in the event. The pilots involved were Thomas Sopwith number seven, Eugene Ely number four, and Earle Ovington number thirteen.
