A person standing on a path near the pond is observing alligators that are resting under a tree on a small island. The pond was heated by steam pipes from the conservatory. The photograph is from the fourteenth page of the photobook titled, "National Military Home Dayton" and published by Keyes Souvenir Card Company in Dayton, Ohio circa 1910. The photograph has a handwritten caption on the bottom that reads, "Alligator Pond." |
