The photograph is of the Soldiers' Monument in the cemetery of the National Military Home of Dayton, Ohio. The monument has a large pillar in the center with a carved soldier holding a rifle while standing watch. Around the base of the monument are statues of men from each branch of the service. Large pedestals surround the monument with flowers and plants on each. The photograph is from the thirty-third page of the photobook titled, "National Military Home Dayton" and published by Keyes Souvenir Card Company in Dayton, Ohio circa 1910. The photograph has a handwritten caption on the bottom that reads, "Soldiers' Monument In Cemetery." |
