The photograph shows Miami Military Institute cadets on the field adjacent to the school grounds, March 17, 1905. The cadets are wearing service uniforms and several are wearing baseball gloves. Four cadets are walking up the hillside in the direction of the school building. The cadets are collecting coats and other items on the ground and walking in the direction of the school. Several cadets are walking down Warren Street toward the entrance for the school grounds which is on the right side of the image. The Miami Military Institute president's home and school building are in the background on top of the hill. A United States flag and Miami Military Institute banner are flying above the school building. The field adjacent to the school grounds is now known as Veterans Memorial Park. Caption on the photo reads, "At the bugle's call. M.M.I. 05. Mar. 17. th. No.3. Bugle-Call. M.M.I.05.EM, 3". This photograph is from an album in the Martha McClellan Brown Collection. |
