| Abstract: | Tragedy in Fall River is an 8-minute documentary produced for HST-717 Multimedia in Public History in Winter 2010 quarter. This brief video summarizes the events preceding the murders of Andrew and Abby Borden on the morning of August 4, 1892 in their home in Fall River, Massachusetts. Accused of the crimes was Andrew's daughter, Lizzie, who subsequently became one of the most infamous characters in the history of American crime and popular culture. Tragedy tells the tale of Lizzie Borden through narration, photographs, and newspaper clippings, researched and edited to concisely present the details leading up to and immediately following the most sensational trial of the nineteenth century. This presentation occurred at the Wright State University Campus-Wide Celebration of Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities on April 16, 2010 |
